LOWER DANUBE. Imitations of Thasos. Late 2nd-1st century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 34 mm, 16.56 g, 12 h). Celticized head of Dionysos to right, wearing wreath of ivy and fruit. Rev. Celticized Herakles standing front, head to left, holding club in his right hand and lion skin in his left; in inner left field, II; around, imitative legend. Dembski -. Flesche -. Lanz -. Lukanc pl. 132, 1490 (same dies). OTA Class 3. Slightly porous and with light scratches on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
